Beginnings.

A microbrewery in North East Tasmania has been the brainchild of head brewer Chris Carins since moving back to Tasmania in 2012 after working as the brewer for Burleigh Brewing in Queensland. Chris also has 7 years experience in winemaking at Pipers Brook Vineyard.

After looking at a number of sites, the former Tasfarm building in Scottsdale became available, and was secured in September 2013. In a prominant location, it is an ideal site for brewing and future cellar door sales.

Progress

Our website is here as an information portal for the many people showing interest in Little Rivers' beers.

The first production batches of Little Rivers beers went on sale in February and the response has been well beyond our expectations. Our current priority is to be able to maintain supply to the outlets supporting us - so do us a favour and support them also.

Little Rivers is on tap and in bottleshops in Scottsdale, Weldborough, Launceston and Hobart, and we are keeping up with supply to those outlets. Find your nearest stockist on our about page.

Our cellar door tasting and sales is on hold, as we are concentrating on getting brand reconition through our bars and bottleshops. We aim to get the cellar door and tasting at front of shop in time for the summer of 2015.

The next step for Little Rivers is to invest in substantially larger production capacity, something we need to do to meet the many new enquiries we are getting every week. Look out for that in 2015.
